We're proud of our nurses and their work to restore and maintain the health of neighbors, family and friends. Like everything else in our healthcare system, our nursing culture is built upon our mission: Healing all people with compassion, faith, and excellence. These five fundamentals in our mission statement guide our practice and set the highest standard of care.
Breaking Down Our Mission
Healing: Restoring and maintaining the health of our community is at the center of all we do.
All people: We believe healthcare is a human right, and nobody should be disadvantaged when it comes to their care.
Compassion: We believe in human touch, providing comfort and treating our patients and one another with dignity.
Faith: We know that faith is powerful and effective in healing.
Excellence: Named among Modern Healthcare's Best Places to Work in Healthcare in 2020, 2021 and 2022, we're committed to exceeding industry standards, as shown in our hospitals earning the most sought-after designations.
Every hospital in our system holds a prestigious nursing designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a reflection of the extraordinary care our nurses deliver every day.
Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital became the first hospital in South Carolina to earn Magnet® designation four consecutive times, most recently achieving Magnet® recognition with Distinction, a rare and prestigious honor.
Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital has earned the Pathway to Excellence® designation three times, most recently in 2021, and is currently preparing its Magnet document for submission in 2025.
Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital received its first Pathway to Excellence® designation in April 2023, and Roper Hospital joined the ranks with its inaugural Pathway to Excellence® designation in November 2024.
Today, every Roper St. Francis Healthcare hospital is recognized by the ANCC, and our shared goal is clear: to achieve Magnet® designation across the entire system by 2030.

Reasons to Join Our Team
Professional governance – Have a Voice in Your Practice
Roper St. Francis Nursing has professional governance that involves direct care nurses in decision-making regarding professional practice, research, quality, patient safety and professional advancement. These councils focus on such issues as nursing policies, evidence-based practice and process improvement, quality and patient safety, nursing research, specialty certification and continuing education, informatics, RN turnover rates and retention activities and recognition of our nurses' achievements.
Mobile Resource Pool
Our Mobile Resource Pool (MRP) could be your perfect career fit if you love variety in your work. The Mobile Resource Pool is a system-wide nurse float pool that rewards clinical skill and commitment to flexibility. Experienced RNs may choose the MRP tier option that best fits their lifestyle and career needs, while helping to meet the staffing needs of the organization. There are specialty specific positions available as well.
Benefits
In addition to competitive pay and health benefits, we offer scholarships, a tuition reimbursement program and various student loan relief programs. As you grow in your career, there are always opportunities to earn more with special charge differentials, preceptor stipends or by earning a BSN or MSN degree.
And we promote work-life balance, so we provide flexible schedule options. In approved units, we offer weekend-only work (WOW). The WOW program helps meet special staffing needs and allows nurses to work three 12-hour weekend shifts and receive extra compensation.
