Jeanne Whyte Kraft

Jeanne Whyte Kraft has made a visionary $1.5 million gift to the Roper St. Francis Foundation in support of women’s health. Kraft is a longtime philanthropist and supporter of hospitals and healthcare facilities. She grew up in McLean, Virginia, and remains involved with Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, even after relocating to South Carolina with her husband, Dennis, nine years ago. After settling in Mount Pleasant, Jeanne was looking for ways to get involved in the community, and after her experience at Roper St. Francis, she knew she wanted to contribute in a way that would have a lasting impact.

Kraft holds an MBA from Marymount University and is the founder and retired owner of Assistech, Inc., a company specializing in proposal development services within the federal, state, local, and commercial information technology markets.

"I take immense pride in supporting my local community health system, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, and their extraordinary medical team,” said Kraft. “I was gratified after moving to Mount Pleasant to find a local health system that delivers world-class care, and I realize not everyone is fortunate to have access to one. I strongly believe in paying it forward while I’m still around to see my money used to give back to my community.”

In recognition of her vision and generosity, the Women’s Services floor at the future Mount Pleasant Specialty Care Campus will be named in her honor.

“Jeanne Kraft’s gift helps pave the way for coordinated and convenient women’s health services at Roper St. Francis Healthcare and we couldn’t be more grateful for her partnership and dedication to our mission of healing all people with compassion, faith and excellence,” said Dr. Megan Baker, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare and Interim President of the Roper St. Francis Foundation. “Her generosity will have an impact on the lives of many in the Lowcountry.”
