Common questions and answers

Orthopedists are specialists in the musculoskeletal system, which means they treat issues that have to do with your muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, or bones. There are different ways to treat injuries, strains or sprains, including physical therapy, medicine and surgery.

Joints, bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments are all a part of orthopedics. Most aches and pains as well as injuries, strains or sprains can be treated by an orthopedist.

Orthopedists specialize in injuries to your muscles, joints, bones, tendons and ligaments. A primary care provider may be able to help with these issues as well, but if your issue is persistent or severe, an orthopedic specialist is the best person to see. If you aren’t sure if your pain requires specialty care, we also offer same-day Express Care with a primary care provider who can refer you to an orthopedist if they think you need one.

Yes, we offer physical therapy for a wide variety of issues, including issues related to those listed among our services and conditions.

All surgery has risks, but your doctor will advise the safest and most appropriate course of treatment for you. We perform minimally invasive orthopedic surgery and are often able to offer other options if you wish to avoid surgery. If surgery is necessary, our minimally invasive approach leaves a smaller scar, is less painful than standard surgery and less poking and prodding means you will heal faster.
